To celebrate the Rugby World Cup, Girlguiding members across Wales have been welcoming a special rugby ball, signed by top Welsh players, to each Guiding County in Wales. Gwent received the ball on Friday evening at Rodney Parade, home of the Gwent Dragons. During the evening girls from all sections tried their hand at rugby skills – scrums, kicks and games – many for the first time! Thanks must go to the coaches and players for organising and running such challenging and fun sessions for such a wide range of ages. It was great to see the girls growing in confidence as the evening progressed. Many had their photograph taken with the ball and all signed a banner supporting the Welsh team. A surprise visitor was Rodney, the mascot of the Gwent Dragons, who also became a star of many photographs!
